Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020 – Community Listening Session with Felicia Brabec and Mayor Brian Marl
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Saline City Hall

Washtenaw County Commissioners Shannon Beeman and Felicia Brabec will be joined by Mayor Brian Marl for a community listening session on racial equity and inclusion. The 1:00 p.m. event at Saline City Hall will serve as an opportunity for those impacted by recent events to openly share their experiences with elected officials. The aim of this meeting is to acknowledge and witness the wrongs created by racism and gather information to help conceptualize next steps within our communities and institutions. This is one of many community sessions bringing together stakeholders who are working toward social change.

9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Washtenaw County Learning Resource Center

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley, United Way of Washtenaw County convenes the Washtenaw Financial Stability Coalition to facilitate collaboration, shared learning, resources and networking between local nonprofit agencies, education and financial institutions around issues of financial security and economic opportunity in our community.

The Coalition is hosting a forum for County Commission candidates to understand their platform on the issues of financial security and economic opportunity for people in our community. The Coalition does not endorse or oppose any of the candidates. All candidates have been invited to participate.
